What drew you to estate planning and estate administration?

As a student in law school, I had the opportunity to participate in a Wills for Heroes event. The Wills for Heroes provides free basic estate planning for first responders and military veterans and their spouses. As the daughter of a Philadelphia Police Officer, I was grateful for the opportunity to volunteer my time assisting attorneys draft estate planning documents for the local first responders and veterans. After seeing how grateful they were, I knew this was the type of law I wanted to do.

What advice would you give someone who keeps putting off their estate planning?

Don’t wait. Estate planning is a difficult topic for many people to talk about. Most people don’t want to talk about what happens when they die. However, I like to tell people that it will be easier on their family if they make a plan now. It can always be changed. Whether you have a small estate or a large estate, basic estate planning can make it easier on your loved ones when the time comes.

Outside of work, what are some of your interests or hobbies?

Born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia, I love all Philadelphia sports. I have two small children, so most of my time is spent keeping us busy out of the house. We love going to a local park, taking a trip to Cape May for the weekend in the summer or spending time with family and friends.
