Tell us about your career journey leading up to joining Elliott Greenleaf.
My career journey began when I enlisted in the United States Navy shortly after high school. During my service, I was honored to be selected for admission to the United States Naval Academy, where I earned my commission as a naval officer. At the Academy, I majored in American Law and Politics, driven by the aspiration of one day becoming a Judge Advocate General (JAG).
After serving on active duty and deploying with the intelligence community, I had the opportunity to fulfill my long-standing goal of becoming a JAG. I served four years on active duty at JAG headquarters in Washington, D.C., gaining invaluable legal and leadership experience. When I transitioned off of active duty, I felt a strong pull to serve my hometown in Northeastern Pennsylvania and sought to deepen my trial experience.
I joined the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office, where I prosecuted major felony offenses, led complex criminal investigations, and secured convictions in multiple jury trials. After several years as a prosecutor, I was ready to rejoin the field of private practice and hone my skills in civil litigation.
I joined Elliott Greenleaf, bringing with me a unique blend of military discipline, prosecutorial experience, and courtroom confidence. From day one, I hit the ground running, contributing to complex civil litigation matters and serving as solicitor for several municipalities.
What attracted you to Elliott Greenleaf, and what excites you most about the firm?
I was first introduced to Elliott Greenleaf during a summer break while I was enrolled at the United States Naval Academy. During my summer internship, I had the opportunity to shadow several attorneys in the Scranton office, and I was immediately drawn to the Firm’s culture of mentorship and collaboration.
I particularly appreciated the exposure to diverse and engaging areas of practice, including commercial transactions, civil litigation, and municipal law. That experience solidified my interest in pursuing a legal career and left a lasting impression on the kind of firm environment I value.
Sixteen years later, after an exciting and fulfilling career in the military and invaluable trial experience serving as a prosecutor in Luzerne County, I jumped at the opportunity to join Elliott Greenleaf’s Wilkes-Barre office, where I could combine my legal experience with the same values and mentorship that first me to the Firm years ago.
