Daniel “Dan” Mulhern is an experienced litigator who focuses his practice on commercial and corporate litigation, zoning and real estate, municipal law, civil rights, criminal justice, and family law.

Dan is a native of Luzerne County and a graduate of Dallas High School.  Dan enlisted in the Navy after high school, but eventually he was appointed and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy. As a naval officer, Dan has served as an intelligence analyst and a lawyer with the Judge Advocate General (“JAG”) Corps.

He currently resides in Shavertown, PA with his wife and children.

Legal Experience That Stands Out

Between 2020 and 2024, Dan worked as an Assistant District Attorney (“ADA”) in Luzerne County eventually promoted to Chief of the Major Crimes Unit.  Dan prosecuted homicides, felony drug and firearm offenses, and violations of the Wiretap Act, resulting in numerous felony convictions at jury trial.

As a Navy JAG, Dan was assigned to Navy JAG Headquarters in Washington, D.C from 2017-2020.  Dan has also defended sailors and marines standing court-martial and administrative discharge. Promoted to the rank of Commander in 2024, he recently served a tour of duty as the Legal Advisor to the Commandant of Midshipmen at the U.S. Naval Academy.

He also has practiced law in Pennsylvania state and federal court in addition to his military service. He has appeared in ten different county courts as well as the federal court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Dan is experienced in criminal defense, civil litigation, family law, and municipal law—serving as solicitor to a borough in Lackawanna County.
