Thomas J. Elliott, a senior shareholder, has over twenty-five years of trial experience, and is Co-Chair of the firm's Hiring Committee. Mr. Elliott's commercial practice takes him into boardrooms and courtrooms, federal and state, trial and appellate, in major matters including employment discrimination, preventing theft of trade secrets and enforcement of non-competition agreements. He has also been trial counsel in a variety of toxic tort, product liability and environmental matters. Mr. Elliott's trial experience involves intellectual property matters, including state and federal actions of complex software ownership/licensing and contractual issues. He has extensive corporate counseling experience in a wide variety of transnational commercial matters including in the United Kingdom , Italy and Belgium . Mr. Elliott has represented major national and international banking and financial institutions in litigation claims of fraud and misrepresentation related to complex lending, derivatives and energy swaps.

Mr. Elliott has negotiated transactions involving the purchase, sale and financing of professional sports franchises in Pennsylvania , Maryland , Texas , California , Oregon and Tennessee . In connection with these transactions, he leads a team of attorneys, accountants and other professionals who counsel owners of professional sports franchises on all aspects of management and operations including: stadium finance and construction; negotiation with local authorities and municipalities for physical and financial infrastructure; playing surface selection and installation; ownership and team tax issues; stadium naming rights; vendor agreements; merchandising and licensing.

The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania appointed him to the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Committee on Legal Ethics and Professional Responsibility. An officer and a director of The Historical Society of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Mr. Elliott has also chaired the Pennsylvania Bar Institute Continuing Legal Education Programs on Commercial Litigation, Evidentiary Issues and Remedies. He has served as a member of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Rivers Resources Advisory Council and the State Transportation Advisory Committee.

A member of the American Bar Association, he served as the Chair of the Litigation Section's Trial Practice Committee, and Chair of its Demonstrative Evidence Subcommittee.

As a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, he served as the Chair of the Environmental Law Committee, and Chair of the Federal Courts Committee. He has also served as a Panel Member of the Federal Bench Bar Conference and as a Member of the Third Circuit Judicial Conference.

As a member of the Montgomery Bar Association, Mr. Elliott has served as: Member of Board of Directors; Co-Chair Federal Court Practice Committee; Chair of the Business Banking and Corporate Counsel Committee; Co-Chair Law Office Management and Technology Committee; Vice-Chair of the Rules of Federal Court Committee; Panel Member and Speaker at CLE Legal Ethics Program; Program Planner and Speaker at CLE Program on Practice before United States Magistrate Judges.

He has also published extensively, including: the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and the Philadelphia and Montgomery Bar Association.

Mr. Elliott received his J.D. and A.B. from Georgetown University . He served as the judicial law clerk for the Honorable John B. Hannum in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court; the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits; and, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Western and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania.
