Raymond J. Santarelli, a shareholder of the firm, has substantial experience representing and counseling clients in complex commercial litigations in state and federal court and representing employees and employers in employment disputes and litigation relating to wrongful discharge. employment discrimination under Title VII, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Americans With Disabilities Act, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, and, various tort actions. Mr. Santarelli represents and counsels healthcare clients, including relating to compliance issues, provider disputes and medical malpractice. Mr. Santarelli also has extensive experience representing clients' interests in the areas of insurance disputes, including bad faith, regulation, coverage, rehabilitation, and liquidation. Other areas of Mr. Santarelli's practice include workers' compensation; municipal law; election law matters; eminent domain proceedings; and, zoning and land-use.
Mr. Santarelli is the Solicitor for the Borough of Darby, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. As a municipal solicitor, Mr. Santarelli prosecutes and defends all actions involving the Borough, and advises the Borough on all legal matters. Mr. Santarelli also serves as legal counsel to the Democratic Party of Delaware County, Pennsylvania, providing legal advices and representation on matters relating to election and campaign finance laws.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Santarelli served as a law clerk to the President Judge of the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania. The Commonwealth Court resolves diverse issues of Commonwealth and municipal administrative agency law, including municipal government, governmental liability, insurance, environmental, election, land use and zoning, as well as original jurisdiction matters involving the Commonwealth and Commonwealth Officers.
Mr. Santarelli is admitted to practice law before the state courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States, and is a member of the Philadelphia, Delaware County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations.
A graduate of Saint Joseph's Preparatory School, Mr. Santarelli received his undergraduate degree in Finance from Villanova University, and his Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law.
