Michael V. Brown, an associate, is a former law clerk for the Administrative Hearing Office of the Pennsylvania Insurance Department.

Mr. Brown provides legal counsel and litigates in diverse areas of the law, including complex business and commercial disputes, business development, business and government continuity, regulatory licensing, ERISA and employee benefit issues, municipal finance and matters involving municipal authorities. Building upon his experience with the Pennsylvania Insurance Department, he has developed an expertise in the insurance industry, including policy litigation, forms and product development, agency contract, and insurance company mergers, acquisitions and insolvencies.

In addition to his legal practice and other community and civic involvements, Mr. Brown is a Councilman for the Borough of Elizabethville and was the Borough's Mayor from 2002-2006. He is the current Chairman of the Central Pennsylvania Energy Consortium, having served in that capacity since 2002, and was the President of the Upper Dauphin Council of Governments from 2002-2004.

A 1996 graduate of the Widener University School of Law, he obtained his B.S. in Administration of Justice from Rutgers University in 1992. He received the Certificate of Achievement in Business Planning at Widener. At Rutgers, he served on the University Senate, and was a member of the Freshman Lightweight Crew Team.

Mr. Brown is admitted to practice before the courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Mr. Brown is also a member of the Pennsylvania and Dauphin County Bar Associations.
