Two separate organizations recently selected State Senator Stewart J. Greenleaf to receive significant awards in recognition of his continuing efforts to provide legal aid for low income Pennsylvanians, and for his efforts on behalf of convicted innocents and to give voices to victims and to reform Pennsylvania’s criminal justice system.

The Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network (PLAN) will award Senator Greenleaf its Outstanding Leadership Award at the PLAN Excellence Award Banquet on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, 5:00 p.m., at the Harrisburg Hilton. PLAN explained to Senator Greenleaf that its award “is in recognition of your exceptional leadership in expanding the availability of civil legal aid for thousands of our low-income Pennsylvania clients.”
Innocence Project will also present Senator Greenleaf with its Hero of Justice Award at its annual gala Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at WHYY studios. Project Innocence selected Senator Greenleaf to recognize his “sustained career fighting to reform Pennsylvania’s criminal justice system to create a truly just and restorative system for all Commonwealth citizens.” The award acknowledges Senator Greenleaf as a “tireless advocate for the convicted innocent, fighting to improve access to justice, give voice to victims, reform antiquated sentencing laws, and shine the light of humanity on those our system has forgotten and traumatized.”
