Rafael X. Zahralddin and Eric M. Sutty are Speakers at CRF Credit and Accounts Receivable Open Forum Conference

Elliott Greenleaf’s Rafael X. Zahralddin-Aravena and Eric M. Sutty participated as panelists in a presentation called “Unclaimed Property Policies and Procedures: Risk Mitigation in Accounts Receivable” at the Credit Research Foundation Credit and Accounts Receivable Conference in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on October 21, 2013. Mr. Zahralddin and Mr. Sutty discussed basic unclaimed property concepts and state requirements/obligations for unclaimed property, types of transactions that commonly create unclaimed property in accounts receivable, and ideas and methods for minimizing the creation of unclaimed property. Mr. Zahralddin and Mr. Sutty also addressed, with the other panelists, a detailed accounts receivable department case study in achieving compliance and minimizing liability. In addition, Mr. Zahralddin and Mr. Sutty reported on state voluntary disclosure programs as a means for remediating risk and achieving compliance, current unclaimed property audit triggers and trends, and discussed the latest developments in unclaimed property cases, laws, regulations and guidelines.
