Michelle E. Costa
Michelle Costa is an associate in the firm’s Blue Bell office. She represents clients in federal and state courts throughout the country in complex commercial and health care matters. Ms. Costa advises clients in the health insurance industry concerning litigation issues, including risk-management, setting litigation reserves, coordinating with multiple business lines, implementing improved business processes and compliance efforts arising from litigation matters.
Ms. Costa has experience in Pennsylvania’s trial and appellate courts in both the state and federal system, and has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in multiple and diverse areas of the law. Her practice includes complex commercial business litigations in numerous industries; health care litigation; employment litigation; insurance coverage and insurance bad faith litigations; business torts and interference claims; defending against wage and hour class actions and pharmaceutical drug disputes.
Ms. Costa was recently co-counsel in winning a $20 Million jury verdict following a two week trial for the Firm’s client, a golf course operator, in a contract dispute. The verdict was the largest commercial verdict ever awarded in the Chester County Court of Common Pleas.
Michelle received a J.D. cum laude from Villanova University School of Law, where she served as Managing Editor for the Villanova Law Review. Her article, The Shocking Truth: Law Enforcement’s Use and Abuse of TASERs and the Need for Reform, 56 Vill. L. Rev. 363 (2011) is published by the Villanova Law Review.
Prior to law school, Ms. Costa attended Shippensburg University (PA) where she graduated magna cum laude majoring in political science with a minor in business.
Michelle Costa is a member of the Bar of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
A lifelong native of the Philadelphia area, Michelle, her husband and their daughter live in West Chester, PA.
