Legal Experience That Stands Out

Mary E. Kohart is a nationally honored commercial litigation trial lawyer. For almost thirty years, Mary has been a first chair trial lawyer with a concentration in complex commercial litigation including health care, securities, antitrust and products liability. Mary is also well known for her advice and advocacy in employment and shareholder matters. She has tried well over two dozen cases to verdict and presented oral argument in hundreds of cases before appellate and trial judges.

Mary graduated from Gettysburg College and Syracuse University College of Law, summa cum laude, Order of the Coif and Syracuse Law Review. Following law school, Mary clerked for Judge Malcolm Muir in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Mary has been recognized as a Pennsylvania Superlawyer since its inception, and has also been repeatedly recognized as one of the top fifty female attorney in Pennsylvania.

Mary is a member of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bars, and a member of the ABA Committees on Securities Litigation and Antitrust. Between 1995 and 1997, she served as chair of the Committee of Seventy and is currently on its executive board. Mary presently serves as the Chancellor of the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania. Mary was previously on the adjunct faculty at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business where she taught M.B.A. candidates. She has also taught at Temple University. Mary also served for eight years on the board of the Philadelphia branch of the American Civil Liberties Union. Mary lives in Lower Gwynedd with her husband and their children.
