Elliott Greenleaf Wins Jury Verdict in Civil Rights Case

Following three days of trial in a Section 1983 civil rights case before Judge A. Richard Caputo, a jury in the United States Middle District of Pennsylvania unanimously found in favor of Elliott Greenleaf’s clients at a correctional facility who were accused of using excessive force and failing to provide medical treatment to the Plaintiff, a former inmate at the clients’ correctional facility. The 8th Amendment civil rights suit alleged facial injuries caused by a state actor. Elliott Greenleaf successfully argued that the correctional facility guards did not use excessive force , nor did a nurse and others deny medical treatment for alleged injuries.

Mark W. Bufalino and Matthew J. Carmody of the Firm’s Wilkes-Barre office won this jury verdict for the Correctional Facility in the United States District Court.
