Elliott Greenleaf won a significant monetary settlement for forty-five (45) families who lost all of their possessions as a result of a several hour apartment fire which occurred on March 29, 2001 at the Marshall Woods Apartment Complex in Norristown, Pennsylvania.
As lead counsel, Elliott Greenleaf filed this important case seeking recovery of all non-insured losses suffered by the forty-five families whose residences and belongings were destroyed when the fire, which began on the roof, destroyed a substantial portion of the apartment complex, and the contents of several buildings. Plaintiffs lost irreplaceable pets, pictures, and family treasures.
On the morning of trial, Elliott Greenleaf negotiated an amicable settlement, supervised by The Honorable Arthur R. Tilson of the Court of Common Pleas of Montgomery County, of all damages suffered by the forty-five families.
The Firm again used its extensive experience in mass tort and fire cases, including serving as lead co-counsel in the Meridian Fire class actions in federal and state court arising out of Philadelphia’s largest high-rise fire disaster.
