Elliott Greenleaf actively represents clients in all phases of federal and state tax. We provide extensive federal tax planning for individuals, businesses and other entities; provide advices on the tax consequences of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate re-organizations and re-capitalizations, financing, work-out and bankruptcy; and provide advices to individuals relating to compensation plans and tax structures. The firm provides analysis and advice on multi-state tax planning for businesses operating in various states, as well as overall state tax planning to maximized tax efficiency for our clients.

In addition to providing planning services on the federal, state and local level, we represent clients before the Internal Revenue Services and various state tax agency proceedings encompassing audits, assessments, collection actions, fraud investigations, ruling requests, and the creation and qualifications of tax exempt, charitable entities. Our attorneys represent clients in the Federal Tax Court, Federal District Court and Federal Appellate Courts regarding federal tax controversies. In addition, we represent clients before the Tax Appeals Board, Board of Finance and Revenue and the Commonwealth Court regarding state tax controversies. We represent clients throughout the federal and Commonwealth criminal tax investigations and other white collar crime investigations and proceedings and at trial.

The firm also provides advice and service in the realm of Offers and Compromise for federal tax purposes and similar representation and proceedings in state courts.
