Elliott Greenleaf Wins Summary Judgment in Title VII Case
On May 16, 2003, the Honorable J. Curtis Joyner of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania granted summary judgment to Elliott Greenleaf's client, a major Fortune 250 company, and its individually-named employee, on Plaintiff's claims under Title VII and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act. Plaintiff also brought a claim for aiding and abetting discrimination under the PHRA, and sought punitive damages. (Shramban v. Aetna, E.D. Pa., No. 02-CV-444, 5/16/03).
In response to Plaintiff's complaints, Elliott Greenleaf's client conducted an investigation including meeting with Plaintiff, her co-workers, her manager and the project coordinator.
On behalf of the employer, Elliott Greenleaf moved for summary judgment on all claims, and the Court granted the Firm's motions, finding that Plaintiff failed to produce sufficient evidence to warrant a trial on her claims.
Elliott Greenleaf's shareholders, John M. Elliott, Eric J. Bronstein and Raymond J. Santarelli, represented this major corporate client in this significant Title VII litigation. |
