ELLIOTT GREENLEAF COMPLETES ANOTHER PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL TRANSACTION

The Firm was recently the purchaser’s counsel in a multi-million dollar acquisition of the Altoona Curve of the Eastern League of Professional Baseball, the AA affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The firm advised the client concerning the formation and structure of a limited liability company for the acquisition as well as in negotiations and at closing of the transaction. The firm interfaced with the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues and the Office of the Commissioner of Baseball. This transaction followed the Firm’s recent representation of the seller of the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx of the Southern League of Professional Baseball, the AA affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.

The Firm’s experience in the purchase and sale of professional baseball teams includes professional baseball team purchases and sales in the AA Eastern League, AA Southern League and AAA Pacific Coast League.
